Privacy Policy

The short version: Popcorn·Timer listens to your popcorn on your device, in the moment, and forgets it immediately. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no server that your audio is sent to. We do not collect personal information about you.

WHO WE ARE

Popcorn·Timer ("the app", "the Service") is made by Codenoodle ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

THE MICROPHONE

The app needs microphone access to do its one job: hear pops. When you tap start, audio from the microphone is analysed on your device in real time to detect the sharp bursts of sound a kernel makes, and to notice when those bursts stop.

That audio is never recorded to a file, never stored, and never transmitted anywhere. It exists only in memory while the timer is running, and is discarded as it is processed. The app does not perform speech recognition and cannot tell what is said near it — it only measures sound levels over time.

You grant microphone access through your device's standard permission prompt, and you can revoke it at any time in your device settings. Without it, the app cannot count pops.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

In normal use of the app, none. Specifically, we do not collect or receive:

• Your name, email address, or any account — the app has no sign-in
• Recordings, audio files, or transcripts
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or files
• Advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or tracking cookies

Your batch history and app settings, if any, are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

IF YOU CONTACT US

If you send us a message through our contact page or by email, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, and we keep the correspondence only as long as it is useful for support and record-keeping. We never add you to a mailing list without asking.

PURCHASES

Popcorn·Timer is a paid app — a single, one-time purchase. That purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells your device that you own the app; we never see or store your payment details, card number, or billing address. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

ANALYTICS, ADS, AND THIRD PARTIES

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not have any to share. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated App Store statistics (such as how many copies were downloaded); these cannot identify you.

THIS WEBSITE

This site is a static page. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request in order to serve the font files. If you submit the contact form, the email address and message you type are sent to our own server so we can reply.

CHILDREN

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

YOUR RIGHTS

Because we hold no personal data about app users, there is normally nothing to access, correct, or erase. If you have written to us and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new revision date. Continued use of the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
